The Ann Stookey Fund for New Music is a new organization dedicated to the commissioning, recording and performance of new compositions, particularly choral works. It’s just entering its first cycle of applications for grants which will fund the commissioning of at least two new works per year. The deadline for the application is November 1st, so have a look at it now. We’re sure that the Ann Stookey Fund will make a huge difference for both conductors and composers. The cycle of creation and performance of new works is the lifeblood of the choral music community – it benefits all its members. The more new works of high quality that are commissioned and composed, the more repertoire conductors and choirs have to perform. The establishment of this fund is certainly an exciting piece of news!
